The World Peace Council condemns and denounces vehemently the barbaric killing of an palestinian infant and the heavy injury of three more family members in the village of Douma,near the Palestinian city of Nablus. This murderous action by Israeli settlers to put on fire a family home shows once more the serious situation caused by the ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories and takes place in the framework of the escalation of the policy of the Israeli occupation regime which is feeding such horrible actions.
NATO, a bellicist alliance, an extension of US military power and which acts according to its interests, will hold in Portugal, Spain and Italy from the beginning of October to November 6, 2015, vast military exercises involving more than 36 000 troops from all branches of the armed forces from member states of this alliance and 7 other "partner countries".
65 years ago, more precisely in 1949-50, emerged a worldwide structure committed to the defence of Peace, solidarity and cooperation among peoples: the World Peace Council. Emanating from organizations of resistance against Nazi-fascism, political parties, trade unions and social movements, and the concerted action of personalities of various nationalities and professions, political convictions and religious beliefs, the worldwide Peace movement found expression in dozens of countries from all continents.
The World Peace Council condemns the massacre organized by ISIS in Suruç city of Turkey on Monday 20th July that led 32 people to death with hundreds injured. Victims were progressive and peace loving youth of Turkey who would plan to contribute to reconstruction works of the Syrian city of Kobane (Ain Al Arab) which was seriously damaged under the attacks of ISIS.
Communiqué of the Secretariat Meeting of the WPC
Istanbul 20-21 June 2015
The Secretariat of the World Peace Council concluded successfully its meeting in Istanbul, hosted excellently by the Peace Association of Turkey on 20-21 June 2015. The meeting took place at the same venue after the two successive regional Meetings of the Middle East and Europe on 18-19 June respectively.

On May 29, video footage of ammunition transport to the Islamist groups in Syria by the Turkish secret service agents was published. The Peace Association of Turkey made a statement regarding this footage.

Three members of the Communist Party, Turkey were arrested on May 1st in Istanbul, Turkey, for attending a demonstration in Taksim Square. The Mayday demonstrations in Istanbul are suppressed by the government for the last three years and Taksim Square is closed to all activities, especially on Mayday. This square, which has a political importance for the Turkish working class was the scene of a sudden protest by the Communist Party, although the area was blocked by the police forces.
The “Moscow Appeal” was adopted by six international organisations, namely WPC, WFTU, WFDY, IADL, WDIF and FIR who attended the events of the 70th anniversary of the Anti-fascist Victory in Moscow.
