This year marks 65 years since the founding of the World Peace Council (WPC) which was the pioneering global anti-imperialist peace organization. It was established after World War II in response to imperialist aggression, under Cold War conditions.

To Mr. Barack Obama
President of the United States

Mr. President,

Together with many social movements, academic, scientific and artistic personalities, and especially with renowned foreign jurists I come, as President of the World Peace Council, to request the immediate freedom of 3 Cuban citizens, unfairly arrested in the United States when they were protecting their country against terrorist attacks.

The National Council of the Philippine Peace and Solidarity Council (PPSC) held its first quarterly meeting for 2014 at Pomeroy Hall, located in the City of San Jose del Monte, adjoining Metropolitan Manila, on February 9, 2014. The meeting opened with a minute of silence in honor of the departed leaders of the peace movement in the Philippines, and proceeded with the filling of vacancies in the PPSC’s National Council and Executive Board, the nomination of new PPSC provincial and city coordinators, and the payment of individual and organizational dues for 2014.

For several years now PANA's campaign in favour of the right of the Irish people to have their own independent foreign policy with positive neutrality as its key component, where we have focused on opposing the use of Shannon Airport and Ireland's integration into the EU/US/NATO military structures have been ignored by the corporate media. This process reached an even greater level of censorship than usual when PANA commissioned RedC (a mainstream polling company that normally gets its results covered) to ask the people their views on Irish neutrality and the US/EU war on Syria.

Delegates from 22 countries gathered together in the city of Guantánamo, capital of the province of the same name, in the Republic of Cuba, on November 18th, 19th and 20th, 2013, convoked by the World Peace Council, the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, to celebrate the THIRD INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR FOR PEACE AND THE ABOLITION OF FOREIGN MILITARY BASES.
