The Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE) denounces and condemns in the strongest terms the arrival and docking of the US aircraft carrier "USS Dwight D. Eisenhower" at the Souda Naval Base of Crete, which with the support of the Greek Armed Forces is currently operating in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The World Peace Council (WPC) expressed its strong condemnation of the Military Coup carried out in Myanmar in the beginning of February 2021 which brought the country back also formally to the rule of the military junta. We denounce the imposition of a one-year state of emergency and the detention of State and Political leaders. Furthermore we denounce the violent attack of police and military against peaceful protests in the capital of the country among others.

Even before three weeks have passed with the new US President Joe Biden in power, the first American bombings in Syria were carried out. In an unprovoked airstrike in eastern Syria last Friday, the United States dropped bombs that killed dozens of people. In fact, the murderous US strike was carried out under the pretext of de-escalating the situation in eastern Syria and Iraq and protecting US personnel and the coalition forces.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation condemns the US bombings carried out on February 25 on Syrian territory, which constitute yet another act of aggression against that country and a further violation of international law.

The Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) denounces and condemns the US bombing in Syria that costed dozens of lives.

These bombings consist a link in the long chain of conflicts and escalation of US, NATO and EU aggression against Iran, in the flammable region of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, where huge economic interests collide in the framework of the generalized capitalist economic crisis.

The World Peace Council (WPC) condemns and rejects in the strongest way the recent decision of the US State Department to include once more Cuba in their unilateral list of states which sponsor terrorism. This cynical and hypocritical action of the US administration is aiming in the imposition of new coercive measures against a people and country which defends since 62 years its right to determine their future.
