It is with great satisfaction and hope that the anti-imperialist and peace forces celebrate the most recent event in the rapprochement between the Korean leaders, the Inter-Korean Summit Meeting in the House of Peace, in Panmunjom, on the 27th of April, which resulted in a consistent and auspicious commitment.

“There will be no more war on the Korean Peninsula and thus a new era of peace has begun”, the meeting’s bilateral declaration states. It is evident that the Korean people yearn for peace, shared prosperity and unity.

Commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the death of National Artist Vitezslav Nezval (1900 – 1958) took place on Thursday April 5th 2018 in front of the house of this famous Czechoslovakian poet in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Canadian Peace Congress unequivocally condemns the brazen aggression of the United States, Britain and France against the Syrian Arab Republic on April 14. These imperialist powers launched over 100 cruise and other missiles at three alleged but unproven chemical weapons facilities in Damascus and Homs, under the pretext of punishing Syria for its alleged use of chemical weapons in Douma, on the outskirts of the capital city. This military assault, without the prior approval of the Security Council, was a gross, undeniable violation of the UN Charter and international law.

The World Peace Council (WPC) expresses its solidarity wih the people of Venezuela in defense of its achievements and in struggle for its sovereign right to decide alone and without foreign interference its matters. The WPC denounces the open threats and actions by the US admnistration (in continuation of the previous administration), by the European Union and willing allies of the region who support the destabilization in the country and impose sanctions aganst the people of Venezuela and its elected government.

The All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) strongly condemns the air strike against Syria by joint forces of USA, UK and France on 14th April on the pretext of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian Army in the East Ghouta, the east of the capital Damascus which was under terrorist control still some days before.

Down with imperialism
Down with war

We condemn the attack made by the coalition comprising the USA, Britain, France and Israel on Syria.

This attack once again showed that imperialism is content with stupid pretexts for declaring war. There is no evidence that the Syrian government used chemical weapons. And there is no reason for the Syrian government to use chemical weapons and shoot itself, at a moment when it is defeating the jihadist gangs.

The Peace and Neutrality Alliance along with World Beyond War condemns unreservedly the overnight attacks carried out by Western powers on the Syrian Arab Republic.

The pretext for this offensive is that a chemical weapons attack has allegedly been carried out by the Syrian Government and that international law banning prohibiting chemical weapons must be upheld. Given that the bombing of a sovereign state is itself a violation of international law, we are being asked to believe that international law must be broken in order that it be upheld -- a manifest absurdity.
