The Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE) honors this year the
completion of 60 years since the first release of its magazine “ROADS OF PEACE” on May
9, 1958. From then until today, “ROADS OF PEACE” are an important "tool" in the development of the anti-war and anti-imperialist struggle.
The 60th anniversary of our Peace Magazine coincides with the Great Anti-fascist
Victory of the Peoples, the crushing of the fascist powers, with countless sacrifices
of the peoples, with the Soviet Union and its people at the forefront, giving 20

On the National Day of anti-imperialist Action allover Greece. In Athens Peace March of 42,3 km distance carried out with the participation of thousands of demonstrators from ancient Marathon to the Greek Ministry of Defense.

Similar Peace marches were held on the same day in the cities of Thessaloniki, Larissa, Alexandroupolis, Chania (Crete), Patras, Ioannina, Samos island with many throusands participants upon the call of EEDYE.

Main slogans of the action day:

The Peace Committee of Turkey, the Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace, and the Cyprus Peace Council successfully held their 8th trilateral meeting on 15-17th December 2017, in İzmir, Turkey under the auspices of the World Peace Council.

The 18th Congress of the Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE) concluded successfully on 2nd and 3rd December at the town hall of Chaidari/Attica its deliberations.

The Congress was attended by 278 delegates coming from 58 Peace Committees from all over the country (out of which the 18 were from the capital area).

The Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE) denounces the government for the extension of the "Greece-US Defense Co-operation Agreement".

The US will continue to have the Souda base and the full range of its bases in the country at the disposal of their war plans. The SYRIZA-ANEL government engages the country more deeply in imperialist plans and wars.
