The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation was present at the International Court against the Blockade of Cuba that took place at the European Parliament, in Brussels, on November 16 and 17.
This Court learnt of the hardships that the Cuban people face in various areas and the barriers that exist against Cuba’s cooperation with other countries, as a result of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States of America more than 60 years ago.

The Court's final deliberation states, among other aspects, that the sanctions and blockade imposed by the USA are illegal and must therefore be abolished, just as, on November 2, the UN General Assembly declared, appealing once again and overwhelmingly for the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade.

The CPPC expresses its everlasting solidarity with the Cuban people and their struggle and reaffirms that Cuba has the right to live in peace, to development and sovereignty, it has the right to follow the path it has freely chosen, without any type of interference.

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação esteve presente no Tribunal Internacional contra o Bloqueio a Cuba que teve lugar no Parlamento Europeu, em Bruxelas, nos dias 16 e 17 de novembro.

Neste Tribunal, foram dadas a conhecer as adversidades que o povo cubano enfrenta nas mais diversas áreas e os entraves que existem entre a cooperação de Cuba e outros países, como consequência do criminoso bloqueio imposto pelos Estados Unidos da América há mais de 60 anos.
A deliberação final do Tribunal refere, entre outros aspectos, que as sanções e o bloqueio imposto pelos EUA são ilegais, devendo, por isso, ser abolidas, tal como, no passado dia 2 de novembro, se pronunciou a Assembleia Geral da ONU, apelando uma vez mais e de forma esmagadora ao fim do bloqueio económico, comercial e financeiro.
O CPPC expressa a sua solidariedade de sempre com o povo cubano e a sua luta e reafirma que Cuba tem direito a viver em paz, ao desenvolvimento e à soberania, tem direito a trilhar o caminho que livremente escolheu, sem nenhum tipo de ingerências.
