Israel’s Crimes Must Not Go Unpunished

Sunday, January 29, 2023

The Egyptian Peace Committee (EPC) unequivocally condemns the hideous massacre committed by the Israeli occupying forces in the Palestinian city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, on Thursday 26 January 2023, which left at least ten Palestinian dead and more dozens injured. This new crime continues a pattern of daily Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
The EPC once again affirms its full solidarity with the Palestinian people, and its support for all forms of resistance to the Israeli occupation, with the aim of restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to establish a fully sovereign and independent state, and the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland.
The EPC calls upon the international community to take strong measures against these continuous crimes, and to hold Israel accountable for its actions that violate the basic rules of international law. It is not acceptable that this racist aggressive state continues to evade responsibility and to commit its crimes with impunity.
In addition, the EPC calls upon all Arab states, especially those with formal relations with Israel, to clearly denounce the crimes of the Israeli occupation, to provide all sorts of support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and to reconsider and immediately stop all relations with the occupying state. It has been repeatedly proved that such relations radically contradict the Arab peoples’ aspirations for freedom, progress and justice, and even encourage Israel to commit more crimes.
The EPC also urges all peace-loving forces around the world to declare their rejection of the Israeli aggressive practices, and their solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for freedom from occupation and sovereignty on their land.
