The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) reaffirms its solidarity with the Afghan people, who are facing the tragic consequences of decades of interference, destabilisation and war promoted by the United States of America, NATO and its allies.

The withdrawal of US troops and those of its allies, who have militarily occupied Afghanistan for two decades, and the seizure of power by the Taliban, constitute an unequivocal defeat for all those who bet on war and occupation to impose their interests.

On the 76 years of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the
Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation recalls the nuclear horror
that killed hundreds of thousands of people, reaffirming the demand for
the end of nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction.

The American atomic bombings on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and
Nagasaki, which took place on August 6 and 9, 1945, were carried out at
a time when Japan was already militarily defeated.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) has paid special importance to the promotion of the culture of peace, seeking that the artistic creativity and generosity of its creators – artists from the most diverse areas – contribute to the common goal of defence and promotion of peace, mobilising very diverse sectors for the enjoyment and participation in cultural initiatives and in defence of peace.

Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and people was heard loudly on the
15th., near the Cuban embassy in Lisbon. At the concentration, promoted
by the CPPC in partnership with the CGTP-IN and AAPC-the Portugal-Cuba
Friendship Association (joined by other organisations), denounced the
blockade and the instrumentalization of the problems created by it to
destabilise Cuba and pave the way for new and more serious attacks
against its sovereignty and the living conditions of its people.

A group of personalities has agreed to sign an Appeal to end the sanctions on Syria, adopted unilaterally and outside the United Nations, that are worsening the situation of the Syrian population, which is currently facing enormous difficulties, given that, for ten years, Syria and its people are being victims of a war that has caused death, suffering and destruction, in addition to the sanctions imposed by the United States of America and the European Union, added to the effects of the pandemic situation.

The Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) denounces the actions organized by the imperialists in recent days in order to cause political destabilization in Cuba. The United States, along with the mafia and other counter-revolutionary forces inside Cuba, are taking advantage of shortages due to the 60-year blockade on imported goods, basic necessities, and constant power cuts by organizing protests and calling for the overthrow of the government.
