The Brazilian Center for Solidarity with the Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz) joins all peace movements around the world in firm rejection of the escalation of threats made by the United States and its allies against Syria and its brave people.

The Brazilian Center for Solidarity with the Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz) has been following with concern the few news on secret negotiations promoted by the illegitimate Government of Michel Temer for the use of the base in Alcantara, in Maranhão state, by the United States. We vehemently reject the possible US military presence in Brazil, the surrender of Brazilian sovereignty over the Alcântara base and its Launching Center, and the costs to the autonomy of the national space program.

The Brazilian Center of Solidarity with the Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz) expresses its concern and revolt for the interception and abduction by Israeli naval forces of women activists for peace that are in a mission against the blockade of Gaza by Israel, in the Women's Boat to Gaza, on Wednesday (5 October 2016), when they approached the Palestinian territory, which is under siege since 2007.

Seventy-one years ago, the world watched, horrified, to the inauguration of the use of nuclear weapons by the United States, at the end of World War II. Seven decades ago, what was unimaginable hit humankind with a frontal blow and marked our history with a stain of terror that can never be erased, on the 6th and 9th of August, 1945.

It is with revolt that we condemn and denounce Israel’s policy of persecution and intimidation of international activists, including Brazilians, who are part of the international movement of solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just cause for an end of the Israeli occupation.
