Cebrapaz condemns US aggression against Iran and calls for focus on the anti-imperialist struggle

Saturday, February 28, 2026

The Brazilian Center for Solidarity with the Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz) expresses its firmest condemnation of the joint military attack carried out by the governments of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in explosions in Tehran and in other Iranian cities this Saturday, February 28, 2026. Such action represents a serious violation of international law and Iranian national sovereignty. The aggression took place amid diplomatic negotiations that were still seeking, in good faith on the Iranian side, peaceful and delayed solutions to the existing tensions. The aggression perpetrated by the US and Israel demonstrates contempt for diplomatic channels and for multilateral mechanisms of conflict resolution.

The use of force against Iran exposes the world to a dangerous cycle of military escalation, with unpredictable humanitarian and geopolitical consequences, and affronts the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and of coexistence among peoples.

Cebrapaz calls for the building of broad popular unity to confront the fascist regimes of the United States and Israel and reaffirms its conviction that national independence remains the great cause of our time. It further maintains that the anti-imperialist struggle constitutes the principal driving force capable of advancing the national and social liberation of peoples and the consolidation of world peace.
