Call of the World Peace Council to the Members and friends of the WPC

--Take to the streets and express steadfast solidarity with the people of Palestine!
29th November- International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

Dear Comrades and Friends

The ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip has entered its second month, with more than 11.000 dead Palestinians, vast majority civilians and 5.000 of them children. The atrocities of the Israeli army are unprecedented whereas people who survive the Israeli air raids and attacks by the invasion troops, are exposed to inhuman conditions of lack of water, electricity, medicine, while hundreds of thousands are being forcefully displaced inside the Gaza Strip, which is an “open air prison”.
The WPC is fully aware that the deep root cause for the suffering of the Palestinian people is the decades’ long Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. No peace and justice in the Middle East can exist without the solution of the Palestinian issue based on the relevant UN resolutions and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine within the borders prior to the 4th June 1967 and with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Palestinian people have the right for return to their homes based on the UN Resolution 194 and all Palestinian political prisoners have to be released from Israeli jails.
During this ongoing aggression, which constitutes a slow genocide, it becomes more than self-evident that the occupation regime of Israel is acting with the full endorsement and support of the USA and the silent complicity of the E.U. and their allies. The “right to self-defense” of Israel is a pretext which is being used for white-washing its crimes against the unarmed Palestinian People, who have the real right to resist the occupation forces.
While approaching the 29th November, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (as adopted by the United Nations in 1977), the World Peace Council calls upon all its member and friendly Organisations in the World to redouble the efforts and take up initiatives, solidarity rallies and demonstrations, mass events and protests in various forms, in order to demand:
 complete and unconditional end of the Israeli aggression and of all hostilities
lifting the military siege of the Gaza Strip
supplies of medicine, electricity, fuel and clean water for the people in need
restoration of hospitals and all other civil facilities
end of the “witch hunting”, harassments and threats of Palestinian citizens inside Israel
PALESTINE CAN AND WILL BE FREE-INJUSTICE CANNOT AND WILL NOT LAST FOREVER!
