On November 20th, in Porto, another initiative took place, promoted by the CPPC and with the collaboration of the UPP, as part of the campaign "FOR CUBA! END THE BLOCKADE!".
The Cuban Ambassador, José Ramón Saborido Loidi, Sandra Pereira, president of the AAPC; Isabel Camarinha, president of the CPPC's National Directorate, and Sérgio Vinagre, president of the UPP, were present and spoke.

Among the speeches, the condemnation of the US blockade against Cuba, which has lasted for more than six decades, stood out. This blockade represents an act of economic warfare against an entire people, aimed at depriving Cubans of the most basic necessities, as well as fuel and other materials, in an attempt to defeat their Revolution and subjugate them to US interests.

The session was very well attended, with several interventions from those present. The latest UN vote – Demanding an End to the Blockade – in October was highlighted, the result of which speaks for itself: 165 countries voted in favor, 7 against – including the US and Israel – and 12 abstained.

The effort and courage of the Cuban people in resisting the US imperialist offensive in the fight for their sovereignty was also emphasized.

At the end, the chant was: END THE BLOCKADE! – CUBA WILL WIN! – YES TO PEACE! NO TO WAR!

Solidariedade com o povo cubano

No passado dia 20 de Novembro, no Porto, realizou-se mais uma iniciativa, promovida pelo CPPC e com a colaboração da UPP, inserida na Campanha «POR CUBA! FIM AO BLOQUEIO!».
Estiveram presentes e intervieram o Embaixador de Cuba, José Ramón Saborido Loidi, Sandra Pereira, presidente da AAPC; Isabel Camarinha presidente da DN do CPPC e Sérgio Vinagre presidente da UPP.
Das intervenções, destacou-se a condenação ao Bloqueio a Cuba pelos EUA, há mais de seis décadas, que representa um acto de guerra económica contra todo um povo, que visa privar os cubanos dos mais elementares bens de primeira necessidade, bem como combustíveis e outras matérias, numa tentativa de derrotar a sua Revolução e subjugá-los aos interesses norte-americanos.
A sessão foi muito participada com várias intervenções dos muito presentes, tendo sido realçada a última votação na ONU – A Exigir o Fim do Bloqueio – em Outubro, passado em que o resultado fala por si só, 165 países votaram a favor, 7 contra – incluindo os EUA e Israel – e 12 abstiveram-se.
Também foi realçado o esforço e coragem do povo Cubano em resistir à ofensiva imperialista norte-americana, na luta pela sua soberania.
No final ouviu-se FIM AO BLOQUEIO! – CUBA VENCERÁ! – PAZ SIM! GUERRA NÃO!
