Statement of the WPC regarding the act of piracy of the USA against oil tanker of Venezuela
The World Peace Council reiterates in the strongest way its condemnation to the new military escalation and aggression of the USA and its military, against an oil tanker of Venezuela which constitutes an act of international piracy. The presence of the US Navy, with the biggest air craft carrier and other war ships in the Caribbean Sea shows the clear intention and plan of US imperialism to threaten and violate the sovereignty of the country with the biggest oil reserves worldwide. The recent extrajudicial assassinations of crew members of Venezuelan fisher boats by the US Navy and the openly expressed plans for a violent regime change are part of the imperialist and hegemonic policies of the USA towards the peoples of the region and Venezuela in particular.
We denounce the plans for an open military intervention and invasion by the USA to Venezuela, guided by the “Monroe Doctrine” and many similar actions for the last decades in Latin America.
We express our full-hearted solidarity with the people of Venezuela who are the only one who decide freely and independently about its fortunes, without foreign interventions and threats, without foreign illegal coercive measures and sanctions in order to become the true masters of its wealth and future.
US Navy out of the Caribbean Sea!
Down with Imperialism!
Long live the Internationalist Solidarity of the Peoples!
