Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would destroy Gaza City and expel its population, imposing a new and unacceptable forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, a step that is part of Israel's policy of genocide and colonization against the Palestinian people.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) strongly condemns this new escalation of Israel's aggression against the Palestinian people and calls for solidarity from the peace and solidarity movement and the Portuguese people with Palestine.

As a result of Israeli aggression, there have already been more than 62,000 deaths, more than 158,000 injured, and more than a million displaced people, numbers that increase daily. In addition to systematic attacks and bombings, Israel imposes a criminal blockade on the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip.

As several UN agencies report, the blockade imposed by Israel is causing widespread malnutrition, with the number of deaths from hunger rising, including many children. This is an unacceptable and shocking situation, compounded by the murders of Palestinians seeking the scarce food supplies entering the Gaza Strip.

The Zionist regime's disregard for international law is blatant and must continue to be denounced. United Nations resolutions and the rulings of the International Court of Justice regarding the national rights of the Palestinian people must be complied with. Israel cannot continue to enjoy impunity for the crimes it repeatedly commits, nor can it continue to rely on military, political, and economic support from the US, NATO, and the EU.

However, in the early hours of Tuesday, the 9th, one of the vessels heading to the Gaza Strip, as part of the initiative promoted by the Sumud Global Flotilla, was struck by a drone, an act that the CPPC vehemently denounces and condemns.

The CPPC condemns Israel's crimes, demands an immediate end to the genocide, demands an immediate end to the aggression, including the blockade, imposed by Israel on the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip, and urges the urgent entry of humanitarian aid. It is urgent to create an independent and sovereign State of Palestine and to fulfill the right of return of Palestinian refugees, as determined by UN resolutions.

The CPPC calls for participation in the actions to be developed within the framework of the Solidarity Campaign with the Palestinian People "All for Palestine! End the Genocide! End the Occupation!"

CPPC condena expulsão da população palestiniana da cidade de Gaza e apela à solidariedade com o povo palestiniano

Benjamin Nethanyau, primeiro-ministro israelita, anunciou que iria destruir a cidade de Gaza e expulsar a sua população, impondo uma nova e inaceitável deslocação forçada de centenas de milhares de palestinianos, passo que se insere na política de genocídio e de colonização que Israel leva a cabo contra o povo palestiniano.

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC) condena veementemente esta nova escalada da agressão de Israel ao povo palestiniano e apela à solidariedade por parte do movimento da paz e da solidariedade, do povo português para com a Palestina.

Em resultado da agressão israelita são já mais de 62 mil os mortos, mais de 158 mil feridos e mais de um milhão de deslocados, números que aumentam todos os dias.

Para além dos sistemáticos ataques e bombardeamentos, Israel impõe sobre a população palestiniana da Faixa de Gaza um bloqueio criminoso. Tal como denunciam diversas agências da ONU, o bloqueio imposto por Israel está a provocar desnutrição generalizada, sendo crescente o número de mortos por fome, entre os quais muitas crianças. Uma inaceitável e chocante situação, a que se acresce os assassinatos de palestinianos que procuram os escassos alimentos que entram na Faixa de Gaza.

O desrespeito do direito internacional por parte do regime sionista é gritante e tem de continuar a ser denunciado. As resoluções da Organização das Nações Unidas e as deliberações do Tribunal Internacional de Justiça no que respeita aos direitos nacionais do povo palestiniano têm de ser cumpridas.

Israel não pode continuar a gozar de impunidade face aos crimes que sucessivamente comete, nem pode continuar a contar com o apoio militar, político e económico dos EUA e das potências da NATO e da UE.

Entretanto, na madrugada do dia 9, terça-feira, uma das embarcações que se dirige à Faixa de Gaza, no âmbito da iniciativa promovida pela Flotilha Global Sumud, foi atingida por um drone, acto que o CPPC veementemente denuncia e repudia.
O CPPC condena os crimes de Israel, exige o imediato fim do genocídio, exige o fim imediato da agressão, incluindo do bloqueio, imposto por Israel à população palestiniana da Faixa de Gaza, e insta à urgente entrada de ajuda humanitária.

É urgente criar o Estado da Palestina, independente e soberano, cumprir o direito de retorno dos refugiados palestinianos, como determinam as resoluções da ONU.

O CPPC apela à participação nas ações a desenvolver no âmbito da Campanha de Solidariedade com o Povo Palestiniano «Todos pela Palestina! Fim ao genocídio! Fim à ocupação!»,.
