On June 24th, a rally for peace and to denouncing NATO's objectives was held.

Several people attended the event, which took place in front of the José Saramago Foundation, also a profound humanist and advocate for peace.

The demand for peace and the condemnation of the wars taking place in various parts of the world were reaffirmed, as well as NATO's role in intervening in various conflicts and in the escalation of confrontation. On the first day of the Summit of this political-military bloc, the Portuguese government was demanded to comply with and respect the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, specifically its Article 7, which advocates the abolition of political-military blocs.

At the beginning of the event, presented by Rita Faísca of Projeto Ruído, actor and director Fernando Jorge recited two poems about Peace and read an excerpt from Saramago on the importance of mobilizing for a culture of Peace. Dinis Lourenço of the CGTP-IN and Isabel Camarinha also spoke, reporting on a new demonstration for Peace in the Middle East and in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demanding an end to the genocide by Israel.

On the 26th, under the same motto and with the same objectives, an event was held in Porto.

PAZ SIM!

NATO NÃO!

Realizou-se, no dia 24 de Junho, uma concentração pela Paz e de denúncia dos objetivos da NATO.

Foram vários os que estiveram presentes na iniciativa que se realizou em frente à Fundação José Saramago, também ele um profundo humanista e defensor da Paz.

Reafirmou-se a exigência da paz e a condenação das guerras que em vários pontos do mundo têm lugar, bem como o papel em intervenção da NATO em vários conflitos e na escalada da confrontação.

No primeiro dia da Cimeira deste bloco político-militar, exigiu-se do governo português o cumprimento e respeito da Constituição da República Portuguesa, nomeadamente do seu artigo 7°, que preconiza a abolição dos blocos político-militares.

No início da ação que foi apresentada por Rita Faísca, do Projecto Ruído, Fernando Jorge, actor e encenador declamou dois poemas sobre a Paz e leu um excerto de Saramago sobre a importância de mobilizar para uma cultura da Paz. Intervieram Dinis Lourenço, da CGTP-IN, e Isabel Camarinha, que informou sobre uma nova manifestação pela Paz no Médio Oriente e em solidariedade com o povo palestiniano, exigindo o fim do genocídio por Israel.

No dia 26, sob o mesmo lema e com os mesmos objetivos, realizou-se uma ação no Porto.
