The Greek Committtee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) organized massive commemorative event on 9th August on the Athens “Acropolis” where the crimes of imperialism were denounced and the need for the struggle today against imperialist wars and aggressions was underlined.
Hundreds of peace loving people gathered and commemorated the US bombing of the martyr cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 71 years ago.

Seventy-one years ago, the world watched, horrified, to the inauguration of the use of nuclear weapons by the United States, at the end of World War II. Seven decades ago, what was unimaginable hit humankind with a frontal blow and marked our history with a stain of terror that can never be erased, on the 6th and 9th of August, 1945.

We would like to draw your attention to the recent provocative deportation of comrade Moara Crivelente, member of the CEBRAPAZ, by the Israeli border authorities on her way to visit the Palestinian Territories. Moara Crivelente was denied entry to Israel and thus to the occupied lands of Palestine and after hours of interrogation and temporary detention she was banned for 10 years to enter Israel.

It is with revolt that we condemn and denounce Israel’s policy of persecution and intimidation of international activists, including Brazilians, who are part of the international movement of solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just cause for an end of the Israeli occupation.

The Viennese Peace Movement and the Hiroshima Group Vienna with affiliated peace movement calling for the memorial day of the first atom bombs ever used against human lives.

This year marks the 71st anniversary of the only time nuclear warheads were dropped as an act of aggression at the end of the 2^nd world war, the bombings of the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki executed by the US Air Force on August 6th and August 9th 1945. The consequence of this inferno were the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and victims suffering from resulting illnesses up today.

World Peace Council held successfully it's ANTI-NATO CONFERENCE IN WARSAW on 8th of July. 85 delegates from 22 countries took part with 32 speakers representing 30 international and national entities from the anti-imperialist peace labour and popular movement.

WPC also participatded with its block in the anti NATO demonstration on the 9th of July.
