RESOLUTION FOR THE CYPRUS ISSUE

The World’s Peace Council Organizations from the Regions of Europe and Middle East that met in Nicosia at 9th and 10th of September 2016 discussed amongst other crucial issues that affect and undermine peace in Europe, Middle East and in the World, the developments regarding Cyprus as well.

Given the authentic institutional coup against the Brazilian People, with the destitution of Dilma Rousseff, elected president with 54 million votes by Brazilian citizens, and driven from the Presidency by 61 votes by senators with no judicially valid justification, the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) manifests its solidarity with Dilma Rousseff, the Brazilian people, with CEBRAPAZ and all the progressive Brazilian forces that continue to defend democracy, justice and social progress.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation carryed out toda September 1st an initiative in solidarity with the Venezuelan people. This initiative had the participation of the Venezuelan Ambassador in Portugal, General Lucas Rincón Romero, various other diplomats, representatives of various Portuguese organizations and other activists that stand in solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and with the inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to follow the path it chooses free from any foreign interference.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) considers the bilateral and definitive cease-fire that enters into force today (29th August) between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People's Army (FARC-EP) to be of great importance. The accord follows the Final Accord for the End of the Conflict and the Construction of a Stable and Lasting Peace in Colombia, recently achieved in Havana, Cuba, aimed towards the end of more than half a century of armed conflict.

Fidel Castro is a political leader who added to the strategies of the Cuban state principles of solidarity with and between all peoples in the world. Cuba’s foreign policy is based on principles that strengthen peace, cooperation and friendship, putting the people and their most essential needs, humane and fair needs, as priorities.

Seventy-one years ago, the world watched, horrified, to the inauguration of the use of nuclear weapons by the United States, at the end of World War II. Seven decades ago, what was unimaginable hit humankind with a frontal blow and marked our history with a stain of terror that can never be erased, on the 6th and 9th of August, 1945.

We would like to draw your attention to the recent provocative deportation of comrade Moara Crivelente, member of the CEBRAPAZ, by the Israeli border authorities on her way to visit the Palestinian Territories. Moara Crivelente was denied entry to Israel and thus to the occupied lands of Palestine and after hours of interrogation and temporary detention she was banned for 10 years to enter Israel.
