The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation - CPPC, one of the organizations promoting and subscribing to the appeal "Together for Cuba", was present at the act of solidarity that took place at Voz do Operário, in Lisbon, last July 15.

It was an important political-cultural initiative that counted with the generous participation of numerous musicians and the interventions of Manuel Figueiredo, president of A Voz do Operário and Miguel Díaz-Canel, president of Cuba. In addition to the hall that had many hundreds of participants, also the outdoor enclosure of A Voz do Operário was filled with solidarity, where many hundreds more followed the initiative through sound and video.

Together for Cuba!

More than six decades ago, the Cuban people won their freedom and embarked on a path of sovereignty, independence, progress and emancipation.

In this journey Cuba shows the world that the mobilization and consciousness of a people are an invincible force and that it is possible, in the face of the hostility of a great power, to face challenges and difficulties, guaranteeing rights to the entire population and a development model based on social justice.

Cuba has never given up on the rights to health, education, housing, culture and equality. And despite the demands it faces, it has never failed to show solidarity with other peoples, including international health aid.

Cuba has never attacked or threatened any other country, but for more than 60 years it has been subject to an illegal and unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the USA, which aims to prevent its development and condition its relations with other peoples and countries.

Cuba deserves and needs our solidarity! The blockade to which it has been subjected makes it necessary for us to continue to mobilize will, aid and generosity.

The demand for an end to the blockade is an integral part of the struggle for a world of peace and cooperation, free from interference, sanctions and wars.

In this sense, the signatory organizations call for participation in the great act of solidarity with Cuba, which will take place on 15 July in Lisbon.

Juntos por Cuba!

O Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação - CPPC, umas das organizações promotoras e subscritoras do apelo "Juntos por Cuba" esteve presente no acto de solidariedade que se realizou na Voz do Operário, em Lisboa, no passado dia 15 de julho.
Foi uma importante iniciativa político-cultural que contou com a participação generosa de inúmeros músicos e as intervenções de Manuel Figueiredo, presidente d'A Voz do Operário e Miguel Díaz-Canel, presidente de Cuba. Para além do salão que contava com largas centenas de participantes, também o recinto exterior d'A Voz do Operário se encheu de solidariedade, onde tantas outras centenas acompanharam a iniciativa através de som e vídeo.

Apelo:
Juntos por Cuba!
O povo cubano conquistou há mais de seis décadas a liberdade e encetou um caminho de soberania, independência, progresso e emancipação.
Nesse percurso Cuba mostra ao Mundo que a mobilização e a consciência de um povo são uma força invencível e que é possível, perante a hostilização de uma grande potência, enfrentar desafios e dificuldades, garantindo direitos a toda a população e um modelo de desenvolvimento assente na justiça social.
Cuba nunca desistiu dos direitos à saúde, à educação, à habitação, à cultura, à igualdade. E, apesar das exigências que enfrenta, nunca falhou com a solidariedade a outros povos, nomeadamente a ajuda internacional no plano da saúde.
Cuba nunca agrediu ou ameaçou nenhum outro País, mas há mais de 60 anos que é sujeita a um ilegal e injusto bloqueio económico, comercial e financeiro imposto pelos EUA que visa impedir o seu desenvolvimento e condicionar as suas relações com outros povos e países.
Cuba merece e precisa da nossa solidariedade! O bloqueio a que tem estado sujeita coloca a necessidade de continuarmos a mobilizar vontades, ajuda e generosidade.
A exigência pelo fim do bloqueio é parte integrante da luta por um mundo de paz e cooperação, livre de ingerências, sanções, guerras.
Neste sentido as organizações signatárias, apelam à participação no grande acto de solidariedade com Cuba, que terá lugar no próximo dia 15 de Julho, em Lisboa.
