DECLARATION OF THE CUBAN MOVEMENT FOR PEACE AND SOVEREIGNTY OF THE PEOPLES (MOVPAZ)

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

The Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of Peoples (MOVPAZ) reiterates its strongest rejection of the media and psychological campaigns that, orchestrated and directed by the United States government and accompanied by sectors of the national and international oligarchic right, violate the free exercise of democracy and peaceful life in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

For several months, the Bolivarian people, their government and the democratically elected President, Nicolás Maduro Moro, have been facing the aggression of the most reactionary forces in the region and the world led by imperialism and its main exponent, the current President of the United States , Donald Trump, who in sharp rapturous connotation with the extremist sectors of the local opposition stimulate and support the imposition of political, economic, commercial and financial sanctions against the Bolivarian revolution with the purpose of frustrating and reversing social achievements and the example of humanism and solidarity that this process heads with dignity.

The threat of a military intervention does not escape the brutal siege that today tends to that fraternal Latin American and Caribbean nation.

In the present circumstances that Venezuela of Bolivar and Chavez is confronted with, the expressions and genuine actions of support and solidarity coming from the peace-loving sectors of the whole Planet are now more necessary than ever, and especially in our Region that sustains the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a «Zone of Peace» is in full force.

In view of the above, the Cuban Movement for Peace and Peoples' Sovereignty (MOVPAZ) reiterates its call to all organizations, movements and people who love Peace to multiply the denunciation against imperialist aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and to carry out actions in strong solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their leaders.
