In the first half of 2023, the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) promoted six
Concerts for Peace in the cities of Coimbra, Gondomar, Viana do Castelo, Matosinhos, Vila Nova de Gaia
and Setúbal, all supported by the respective City Councils and with the participation of artists, cultural
associations and art schools from those places.
The holding of Concerts for Peace, already regular in the work of the CPPC, has been a line of
intervention that has been successfully sought to be extended to more cities in the country.
The many dozens of performances at these concerts amount to many hundreds of artists - from the young
to the old - who, in a generous, solidary and committed way, give their time and their art to participate in
these initiatives, affirming, defending and taking to more and more people the values of peace,
cooperation and friendship, thus making their individual and collective contribution to build a culture of
Peace. Among the spectators there are always hundreds of people who also make their contribution for the
defence of peace, generally proclaiming, in many voices " Yes to Peace! No to War!
This work, which continues, includes the preparation of more concerts later this year (Lisbon, Évora,
Loulé, Seixal), which are also part of the preparation of the III Meeting for Peace, scheduled for October
28, in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Concertos pela Paz em Portugal

No primeiro semestre de 2023, o Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC) promoveu seis
Concertos pela Paz nas cidades de Coimbra, Gondomar, Viana do Castelo, Matosinhos, Vila Nova de Gaia
e Setúbal, todos apoiados pelas respetivas Câmaras Municipais e com a participação de artistas,
associações culturais e escolas artísticas das referidas localidades.
A realização dos Concertos pela Paz, já habitual no trabalho do CPPC, tem sido uma linha de intervenção
que se tem procurado, com sucesso, alargar a mais cidades do país.
As muitas dezenas de atuações nestes concertos equivalem a muitas centenas de artistas - desde os mais
jovens aos mais velhos - que, de forma generosa, solidária e empenhada, dispõem do seu tempo e da sua
arte para participar nestas iniciativas, afirmando, defendendo e levando a cada vez mais pessoas os
valores da Paz, da cooperação e da amizade, dando, assim, o seu contributo individual e coletivo para a
construção de uma cultura de Paz. Na assistência, há sempre centenas de pessoas que também dão o seu
contributo na defesa da paz, geralmente proclamando, a muitas vozes " Paz sim! Guerra não!
Este trabalho que continua, inclui a preparação de mais concertos ainda este ano ( Lisboa, Évora, Loulé,
Seixal), que também se enquadram na preparação do III Encontro pela Paz, previsto para 28 de outubro,
em Vila Nova de Gaia.
