For several years now PANA's campaign in favour of the right of the Irish people to have their own independent foreign policy with positive neutrality as its key component, where we have focused on opposing the use of Shannon Airport and Ireland's integration into the EU/US/NATO military structures have been ignored by the corporate media. This process reached an even greater level of censorship than usual when PANA commissioned RedC (a mainstream polling company that normally gets its results covered) to ask the people their views on Irish neutrality and the US/EU war on Syria.

Delegates from 22 countries gathered together in the city of Guantánamo, capital of the province of the same name, in the Republic of Cuba, on November 18th, 19th and 20th, 2013, convoked by the World Peace Council, the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, to celebrate the THIRD INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR FOR PEACE AND THE ABOLITION OF FOREIGN MILITARY BASES.

NGO "Georgian Peace Committee " joined the action, which was held on December 15 in front of the former Georgian parliament in the center of Tbilisi . The main demand of the action was to outlaw the former ruling party - "United National Movement " and prosecute high officials of the former government led by Saakashvili.

On the 14th December the annual Assembly of the "Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals" took place in Belgrade, Serbia .

The WPC participated with its Executive Secretary Iraklis Tsavdaridis in the Assembly. Important talks were held in the framework of the Assembly of the Belgrade Forum between the WPC and the BF about the holding of the International Conference(22-23 March 2014) on the occasion of the 15 years of the NATO Aggression against FR Yugoslavia,which constituted a turning point in the imperialism's aggresiveness.

Upon decision of the Secretariat meeting last June in Lisbon,the Executive Committee of the WPC will meet from November 23-25 in Caracas,the capital of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

This meeting is the first EC after the last year’s Assembly of WPC in Kathmandu.

The current world situation in regards to peace and security is further aggravating and posing new threats to humanity through the growing aggressiveness of imperialism.
