The noble initiative of the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2014 the International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, represents another significant step forward in international support for the just cause of the Palestinian people.
The withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from all occupied territories in June 1967, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4th 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, the solution of the Palestinian refugees problem according to the UN resolution 194 and the release of all Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Jails are all essential components of the just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
The status of Palestine as a non-member state in the United Nations and as a full member of the United Nations Commission for Education and Science (UNESCO) obtained in 2013, support the inevitable recognition of the undeniable rights of the Palestinian people, violated by the Israeli consecutive governments all over the past years until now.
It is very essential also to end the ongoing condemned blockade imposed by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, which has caused a devastating humanitarian crisis among its inhabitants and environment.
We believe that the initiative of the UN- 2014 deserves a massive and active support of all the progressive and peace loving people all over the world to stop the continuous aggression on the Palestinian Lands through building new illegal Israeli settlements and the shameful apartheid wall in the occupied territories, which nearly makes the two states solution impossible.
We therefore call upon all progressive and loving peace forces in the world to consolidate their efforts, and to raise their voice in support of the Palestinian people to achieve all their rights, including the right to self-determination.
We call upon the United Nations and other international organizations and agencies to recognize the state of Palestine as fully sovereign and independent.
